Indian National Arrested at BIA with Over 2kg of Heroin

COLOMBO (News 1st): A 32-year-old Indian national was arrested by the Customs officials at the Bandaranaike International Airport, Katunayake for attempting to smuggle over 2 kilograms of heroin into Sri Lanka. 

The suspect had arrived in the country from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, when Customs officials detected the narcotics during a routine inspection.

The seized heroin, valued at over Rs. 34 million, along with the suspect, has been handed over to the Police Narcotics Bureau for further investigations.
