UNP Marks 79th Anniversary Today

COLOMBO(News 1st); The 79th anniversary convention of the United National Party (UNP) is being held today.

The event will take place this morning in Sri Jayewardenepura Kotte under the theme “Let's Stand Together.”

UNP leader and former President Ranil Wickremesinghe, along with several other prominent politicians, is expected to attend the ceremony.

Founded on September 6, 1946, the UNP is one of Sri Lanka’s major political parties and has produced multiple Presidents and Prime Ministers throughout its history.
