Police Report Surge in Child Cyber Crimes

COLOMBO(News 1st); Police report that 206 children were taken into custody over drug-related offences during the past year.
According to Police Media Spokesperson, Assistant Superintendent of Police F.U. Wootler, 28 children were victims of sexual abuse via cyberspace during the same period.
He stated that special teams have been deployed in areas with vulnerable children to monitor their safety.
The spokesperson also revealed that 118 women were sexually abused online in the past year.
