Fatal Collision in Kuliyapitiya: Three Dead, Several Students Injured

COLOMBO (News 1st): Three people, including two schoolchildren, have tragically lost their lives in a road accident in Pallepitiya, Kuliyapitiya.

The incident took place this morning near the Wilpola bridge in Pallepitiya, Kuliyapitiya, when a van transporting schoolchildren collided with a tipper-truck carrying sand.

Among the deceased were the driver of the van and two students.

Thirteen other schoolchildren sustained injuries in the accident and were admitted to the Kuliyapitiya Hospital for treatment.

According to police, several of the injured students are in critical condition.
