COLOMBO (News 1st); Opposition Leader and Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) leader Sajith Premadasa cast his vote this morning, delivering a strong message on the importance of democratic integrity and national unity.

Speaking to the media after casting his ballot, Premadasa emphasized the need for collective responsibility in ensuring a free, fair, and peaceful election process.

“It is essential that all of us come together to uphold a free, fair, and democratic election,”** he stated. “We must respect the verdict and the will of the people, as expressed through the democratic process.”

Premadasa also highlighted the importance of maintaining peace and democratic values in the post-election period, urging all stakeholders to create space for diverse opinions and to act with discipline.

“We must ensure that democracy is practiced with discipline and without violating electoral laws. That is the collective hope of all citizens,” he added.
