Police Chase Ends in Arrests: Seven Suspects Detained

COLOMBO (News 1st); Seven suspects have been arrested in Thihagoda and Kosgoda for fleeing from police in two separate incidents.

According to police reports, five suspects were apprehended last night in Thihagoda after they ignored police orders and attempted to escape in a jeep. 

The fleeing vehicle also collided with a police jeep during the chase.

The suspects were arrested after police fired shots at the jeep's tires.

In a separate incident in Kosgoda, two suspects were arrested for transporting cattle illegally in a lorry. They too ignored police orders to stop and attempted to flee.
