Parliamentary Debate On Batalanda Commission Report To Be Held Today

COLOMBO (News 1st); The Parliament is set to take into debate the Batalanda Commission Report today (10).

The debate is scheduled to commence following the convening of the parliament at 9.30 am.

The investigation reports on the establishment and maintenance of illegal detention centers and torture chambers within the Batalanda housing complex will be taken up for debate.

The debate is scheduled to be held for two days.

Accordingly, the second day of the debate is set to take place in May.

The Batalanda Commission Report was tabled in Parliament by the Leader of the House, Minister Bimal Rathnayake on March 14.
