COLOMBO (News 1st); Four suspects have been remanded until April 1st in connection with the assault on a security guard at a nightclub in Kompanna Veediya.
The suspects were presented before the Fort Magistrate's Court this afternoon (27).
The suspects were arrested yesterday (26) by the Colombo Central Crimes Investigation Bureau after providing statements regarding the incident.
The assault occurred on March 20th at a nightclub on Park Street, Union Place, where Yoshitha Rajapaksa, son of former President Mahinda Rajapaksa, and his wife were present with several others.
According to police reports, the altercation began when the Rajapaksa couple refused to wear identification wristbands required for entry into the nightclub.
This led to a confrontation between those accompanying the Rajapaksa's with the security guard, who was subsequently assaulted.
Yoshitha Rajapaksa and his wife provided statements to the Kompanna Veediya Police yesterday (26) regarding the incident.
