COLOMBO (News 1st): The government has decided to recruit management officers into the public service after a gap of 7 years.
According to S. Aloka Bandara, Secretary to the Ministry of Public Administration, Provincial Councils, and Local Government, an open competitive examination will be held for this purpose in May.
The examination will be conducted based on the applications submitted for the competitive exam that was scheduled to be held in 2020.
He stated that over 130,000 applications have been submitted so far.
Based on the results of the examination, 2,200 individuals are scheduled to be recruited into the public service.
The Secretary to the Ministry of Public Administration, Provincial Councils, and Local Government stated that there are currently over 4,000 vacancies for management officers.
The last time management officers were recruited into the public service was in 2018.
