Police Nab Seven Suspects Linked To Uswetakeiyawa Murder

COLOMBO (News 1st): Seven individuals have been arrested in connection with the shooting and killing of a man at the Uswetakeiyawa beach in Ja-Ela.

Police stated that among the suspects arrested, is a woman.

The suspected shooter and the person who transported him to the scene of the crime in a three-wheeler were arrested yesterday by a police team. while they were in hiding in Polonnaruwa.

The arrested individuals are residents of Uswetakeiyawa.

A body with gunshot wounds was found on Friday at the Morganwatta beach in Uswetakeiyawa.

The deceased was a 40-year-old resident of Kadawatha.

Nine empty T-56 weapon casings and a live bullet were found near the body.

Police stated that they suspect the shooting was carried out by a person known as Dubai Kalana, a close associate of Keselbaddara Padme, who is suspected of involvement in the Ganemulla Sanjeewa murder.
