President Promises Transformation In New Era In Sri Lankan Politics

COLOMBO (News 1st); Sri Lankan President Anura Kumara Dissanayake declared the beginning of a new era in the nation's political culture, while emphasizing the importance of strengthening the trust placed in him by the people and leading the country forward.

President Dissanayake highlighting the unique role of his party in transforming the political landscape asserted that the NPP is the only party capable of meeting the expectations and aspirations of the people, steering the country away from the old political culture.

President Dissanayake acknowledged the challenges faced by the government, including economic difficulties and the need for fiscal discipline. 

He assured the public that his administration is committed to reducing government expenditure and presenting a budget with the lowest possible costs in recent history. He also mentioned significant cuts to the presidential and ministerial budgets, underscoring commitment to financial prudence.

In his address to a gathering in Beruwala, President Dissanayake called for collective effort and sacrifice to overcome the current crisis, while ensuring that the burden does not fall disproportionately on the people.
