Election Commission Sets Deadline for Expenditure Reports

COLOMBO (News 1st): The Election Commission has notified all candidates, party secretaries, and independent group leaders who contested the parliamentary election to prepare and submit their income and expenditure reports by midnight on December 6.

In a statement, the Election Commission stated that district returning officers that the candidates contested in, as well as national list candidates, must also submit their expenditure reports to the Election office.

To facilitate this process, special units will be set up to receive income and expenditure reports from all districts.

These units will remain open until 6:00 PM on regular duty days and until midnight on December 6.

The Election Commission also stated that failure to submit the expenditure reports by the deadline will result in action being taken in accordance with the Election Expenditure Regulation Act.
