Flood Risks Escalate as Maduru Oya, Nilwala River Reach Critical Levels

COLOMBO (News 1st): The Department of Irrigation says that the Maduru Oya has reached high flood levels in Padiyathalawa.

The Nilwala River is at a minor flood level in Thalgahagoda. 

The Department of Irrigation has issued a statement indicating that the Nilwala River in Panadugama is at a level requiring attention.

Flood risks persist in areas surrounding the Yan Oya and Badulu Oya as well. 

The Department of Irrigation informs residents of surrounding low-lying areas and people travelling across these areas to exercise caution.
