Two Arrested in Polonnaruwa for Forging Official Documents

COLOMBO (News 1st) - Two suspects, aged 26 and 42, have been arrested in Polonnaruwa for forging documents bearing the official seal and signature of the Thamankaduwa Divisional Secretary.

Police say that the suspects were found in possession of a range of counterfeit documents, including driving licenses, revenue licenses, examination certificates, and vehicle registration books issued by various government bodies, such as the Department of Motor Traffic, Divisional Secretariats, Government Veterinary Offices, Central Environment Authority, Department of Examinations and the Coconut Development Authority.

A substantial stock of these fake documents was seized during the arrest. 

The investigations are underway into the incident.
