Department of Meteorology Warns of Possible Low Pressure System in Bay of Bengal

COLOMBO (News 1st): The Department of Meteorology issued a warning about the potential development of a low-pressure system in the Central-Eastern and North Andaman Sea areas of the Bay of Bengal, starting tomorrow.

This system may evolve into a depression by the 23rd, with projected movement towards the northwest. As a result, wind speeds in these sea areas could increase to as much as 80 km per hour.

The Department advises the fishing and marine communities to exercise caution in light of these conditions.
