COLOMBO (News 1st) - The Sri Lankan Embassy in Beirut has said that there are no Sri Lankans in the southern regions affected by recent Israeli airstrikes.
Sri Lanka's Ambassador-designate to Lebanon Kapila Jayaweera said that all Sri Lankans in the country are safe, with 15 currently seeking shelter in safety camps.
He assured that every possible measure has been taken to ensure their safety.
Israel carried out at least a dozen air strikes on Beirut on Saturday in the heaviest attack the Lebanese capital witnessed in more than a week.
