Over 1,700 Complaints of Election Law Violations

COLOMBO (News 1st); The Election Commission has announced that it has received a total of 1,745 complaints related to the presidential election, highlighting concerns over law violations and acts of violence.

These complaints have been recorded from July 31 up until yesterday afternoon.

Among the complaints, 1,676 pertain to various violations of election laws, while 10 specifically involve acts of violence.

In addition to the complaints received by the Election Commission, the police have also reported 135 complaints related to the presidential election.

Out of these, 91 complaints involve violations of election laws.
