Prevailing showery condition expected to continue in many parts across the island, says Met Department

COLOMBO (News 1st): The Department of Meteorology warns of several spells of light showers in Western, Sabaragamuwa, Southern, and North-western provinces and in Kandy and Nuwara-Eliya districts today.

According to the met department, showers or thundershowers can also be expected in Eastern and Uva Provinces during the evening or night.

Fairly strong winds of about (30-40) kmph can be expected at times over Northern, North-central, and North-western provinces and in the Hambantota district.

The Department of Meteorology requests the general public to take adequate precautions to minimize damages caused by temporary localized strong winds and lightning during thundershowers.
