COLOMBO (News 1st); Sri Lanka's Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa said there will be no room for nepotism within the Samagi Jana Sandhanaya led by the Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB).

Premadasa emphasized the party's commitment to policy-making based on scientific methods and data-driven information, rather than individual opinions or familial ties.

Premadasa stated, "Our party has subject-oriented committees that ensure our policies are formulated through a scientific approach, focusing on data and evidence provided to our decision-makers. The ultimate goal is to ascertain whether our services can truly lead to the country's recovery and solve its pressing problems."

Highlighting the importance of transparency and participation in policy formulation, Premadasa added, "The SJB and Samagi Jana Sandhanaya have a clear and participatory approach to policy-making. We are committed to being straightforward without succumbing to the culture of political legacy."

In a direct reference to the issue of nepotism, Premadasa clarified, "The Samagi Jana Sandhanaya does not endorse nepotism. While my family members support me in elections, their involvement ends there. They have the right to assist, but there is a clear boundary set."
