SF submits resignation, says SJB

COLOMBO (News1st); Field Marshal Sarath Fonseka has resigned from the positions of Chairman of the Samagi Jana Balawegaya and the Kelaniya Electorate Organizer.

He had addressed a letter to SJB Leader and Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa, notifying him of his decision.

This was confirmed by SJB General Secretary MP Ranjith Madduma Bandara.

Ranjith Madduma Bandara further said measures will be taken to nominate suitable candidates for the Parliamentary seats left vacant following the court decision regarding Manusha Nanayakkara and Harin Fernando.

Ranjith Madduma Bandara said plans are in place to appoint Bandula Lal Bandarigoda, who is next in line on the Galle district preferential vote list, to fill the seat left vacant by Manusha Nanayakkara.

A suitable candidate will be nominated soon for the National List seat left vacant by Harin Fernando.
