Two Arrested at BIA with Illicit Stash of Cigarettes

COLOMBO (News 1st) - Two suspects were arrested at Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) in Katunayake with a consignment of foreign-manufactured cigarettes valued at Rs. 15.99 million.
The arrests were made during an inspection conducted by Customs officers at BIA.
The suspects are two 42-year-old businessmen residing in Colombo.
Customs officers discovered 533 cartons containing 106,600 foreign-manufactured cigarettes concealed in four pieces of luggage brought in by the suspects.
