Direct flights to commence between Sri Lanka & Israel

Sri Lanka is set to begin direct passenger flights to and from Israel and Sri Lanka, from October.

The was confirmed by the Ministry of Ports, Shipping, and Aviation. 

A special discussion on the matter was held between the civil aviation authorities of the two countries under the chairmanship of Minister Nimal Siripala de Silva.

Direct passenger flights will operate for the first time between Tel Aviv to Katunayake.

Accordingly, Israel's Arkia Airline will begin operations in October 2023.

A Memorandum of Understanding is to be signed in the future.
