COLOMBO (News 1st) - Sri Lanka's President Ranil Wickremesinghe said that the IMF staff-level agreement cannot be released until the IMF Executive Board ratifies it and until Sri Lanka reaches agreements with its main creditors.
He told Parliament that the Minister of Justice is in the process of introducing a new corruption law that will include the provisions of the United Nations that have been referred to in the IMF Staff Level Agreement.
He was responding to Opposition Legislator M. A. Sumanthiran in Parliament on Thursday (6), who questioned what measures will be taken to tackle corruption.
