Harini, Sajith & Hirunika visits detained Damitha

COLOMBO (News 1st); Several notable political figures have visited actress Damitha Abeyratne who is being held at the Welikada Magazine Prison, in order to inquire into her wellbeing. 

Accordingly, Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa visited the prison premises. Speaking to media, the Opposition Leader vehemently condemned the Government's attempts to hunt down artists and detain them.

Afterwards, the National People's Power MP Dr. Harini Amarasuriya, who visited the prison to inquire into the well-being of Abeyratne accompanied by two lawyers, was not allowed to go inside the premises, and instead had to remain outside for some time. 

Meanwhile, SJB Vanitha Balawegaya member Hirunika Premachandra also visited Abeyratne and claimed that the arrests were Rajapaksa orders being carried out in a covert manner under the guide of the current President's orders.
