Requesting an RTI? Important notice from Ministry

COLOMBO (News 1st); The Ministry of Public Administration and Home Affairs requests the public to state their phone number, WhatsApp number and email address along with their contact address in order to avoid delays in obtaining information requested from government institutions.

The main purpose of this is to avoid possible delays in sending the requested information by post.

The President's Secretary Saman Ekanayake informed all the secretaries of the ministries that it is the prime responsibility of all the ministries and government officials to work for the
convenience of the public and that it is mandatory to create a response program in all the ministries and government institutions by providing an efficient service without inconveniencing anyone.

Further, the public is informed to follow this step when requesting information from the Presidential Secretariat, and since 2019, the Presidential Senior Assistant Secretary (Legal) Sisira Henadhira has been acting as its Information Officer. Also, Dr. Sulakshana Jayawardena, Additional Secretary to the President, functions as the designated officer
