COLOMBO (News 1st); The price of a packet of Rice and Curry and Plain Tea will be reduced with effect from Monday (08).
President of the Restaurant Owners' Association, Asela Sampath said the decision to reduce the prices was reached to give the people the benefit of the recent reduction in the prices of Gas, Fuel and several other essential items.
He stated that close to 60% of the restaurants in the country were compelled to cease operations amidst the shortage of Gas, adding that with the availability of LP gas, some restaurants have now started to resume operations.
Sampath said a price reduction of 10% to 15% is likely to be implemented on Monday, adding that a final decision will be reached once the reduction in the price domestic gas cylinders is announced.
