COLOMBO (News 1st); The Indian High Commissioner to Sri Lanka Gopal Baglay says that their policy is neighborhood first, and Sri Lanka has been a central place in the past six months.
India has provided over $3.8 Billion as humanitarian assistance for medicine, fuel, fertilizer, and other things.
Also, he says that they continue to support Sri Lanka in every difficult moment, and also India hopes to support Sri Lanka's economic situation in every part such as sports, agriculture, education, and technology, and build the partnership between the two countries.
Further, he said that India is hoping to help the Central Bank of Sri Lanka (CBSL) from the Reserve Bank of India on the foreign exchange reserve front.
The High Commissioner also said that India hopes to build Sri Lanka's economy by promoting more investments to Sri Lanka from India to priority sectors like ports, infrastructure, renewable energy, education, IT, etc.
"I do home that our investment will continue to shore up the Sri Lankan economy," he added.
