Former Military Chiefs to probe recent violence

COLOMBO (News 1st); A committee comprising of Admiral of the Fleet Wasantha Karannagoda, Marshal of the Air Force Roshan Gunathilake and General Daya Ratnayake have been appointed to probe the violent incidents which took place in the country on 31st March and 09th May.

The committee will be chaired by Admiral of the Fleet Wasantha Karannagoda.

The committee was appointed to look into the aftermath of the riots near President Gotabaya Rajapaksa's Mirihana residence.

A member of the committee added fact gathering will commence from Friday (27).
