New Finance Ministry Secretary assumes duties

COLOMBO (News 1st); K.M. Mahinda Siriwardena assumed duties as the new Secretary to the Ministry of Finance this morning (08).

He also served as the Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Sri Lanka, as the Director of its Economic Research Department.

Previously, Siriwardena also served as the Alternative Executive Director of the International Monetary Fund for Sri Lanka, India, Bangladesh and Bhutan.

He has also served as the Director General of the Department of Fiscal Policy of the Ministry of Finance and the Additional Director General of the Department of National Planning.
