LG Election: Polling Cards To Postal Service Today

COLOMBO (News 1st); Postmaster General Ruwan Sathkumara announced that official polling cards for the upcoming local government elections are scheduled to be handed over to the postal service today.

In a statement, he mentioned that these notices are expected to be received at the district level today.

April 27th has been designated as the special day for distributing the official polling cards, with the expectation that all official polling cards will be delivered by April 29th. 

Additionally, secure packets for postal voting related to the local government elections have already been handed over to the postal service.

The Postmaster General stated that the secure packets for six districts have been received and distribution will commence today.

Postal voting for the local government elections is planned for the 23rd, 24th, and 25th of April. 

Voters who are unable to cast their votes on these days will have the opportunity to do so on the 28th and 29th of April. 

The local government elections are scheduled to be held on May 6th.
