Young boy and elderly man drown in separate incidents

COLOMBO (News 1st); Two people are reported to have drowned in separate incidents in Bandaragama, and Pamunugama.
Sri Lanka Police said a 14-year-old boy died after falling into a canal in the SOS Watte area in Bandaragama.
Police said the tragedy took place he attempts to reach and grab a branch that was floating in the canal.
At the same time, a 72-year-old man drowned while swimming in a canal in Pamunugama.
Meanwhile, a hotel worker died after falling into a water tank in a hotel in Welimada.
