President obtain blessings of Sri Maha Bodhi

COLOMBO (News 1st); President Gotabaya Rajapaksa obtained the blessings of the historic Sri Maha Bodhi this morning (08). The Presidential Media Unit stated that the President also visited the Chief Sanghanayaka of the North Central Province and the Chief Incumbent of Atamasthana, Ven. Dr. Pallegama Pirinivasa Thero and inquired about the car park currently being constructed for the pilgrims as well. A large number of students who are appearing for the Year 5 Scholarship examination and the G.C.E. Advanced Level examinations also came to pay homage to the Sri Maha Bodhi and the President blessed the students to excel in their respective examinations. The Presidential Media Unit stated that the people present were keen to see and talk to the President and that the President also approached them and engaged in discussion with the public. The President visited the Ruwanweli Stupa on Friday (07) and obtained blessings from the Chief Incumbent of the Ruwanweli Stupa Ven. Pallegama Hemaratana Thero.
