COLOMBO (News 1st); Dr. Hemantha Herath, the Deputy Director-General of Public Health Services said that the public needs to be cautious to minimize the spread of COVID-19 during the long weekend period, adding that the people must minimize non-essential travel.
The Deputy Director-General of Health Services stated it is important to avoid crowded places and the public must distance themselves from gatherings.
Additionally, Dr. Herath also pointed out that over 500 COVID cases are being reported daily, and requested the public not to engage in non-essential travel without paving the way to a further increase in the cases.
