Man climbs coconut tree protesting high costs

COLOMBO (News 1st); A father of two in Kalutara decided to climb up a coconut tree on Tuesday (12) claiming he did not receive the Rs. 5000/- relief package and does not have the means to survive.

Thereafter, Sri Lanka Police Officers reached the site and offered him a relief package to bring him down.

"I have no means to survive. That is why I climbed up the tree in protest. Everyone got a relief package. But none was given to me," said the man.
