Patali summoned to the CID

COLOMBO (News 1st); Samagi Jana Balavegaya Parliamentarian Patali Champika Ranawaka visited the Criminal Investigations Department on Friday (14) morning.

Ranawaka was summoned to the CID with regard to a complaint that was filed over promotional campaigns carried out by the Ministry of Megapolis under the Government of Good Government, or the Yahapalana Government.

Several MPs representing the Samagi Jana Balavegaya were seen accompanying the MP into the CID.

"These are events that highlight the helpless nature of the government. The government is at a loss for words over the comment made by the Former Attorney General on the Easter Attacks and the evidence that I provided," Ranawaka told reporters.

He alleged that given the situation the government is in, they are trying to divert attention from key issues, using political persecution.

Dr. Harsha De Silva slammed the government for its new political drama at a time when the people are struggling to purchase essential food items.

"These acts will only strengthen the opposition," he said.
