Heavy rains expected for many areas in the country

COLOMBO (News 1st); Sri Lanka's Met Department has warned that showers or thundershowers will occur at times in Sabaragamuwa, Western and North-Western provinces, and in Kandy, Nuwara-Eliya, Galle, and Matara districts. Fairly heavy showers about 50 mm can be expected at some places

Showers or thundershowers will occur at several places in North-Central, Eastern, and Uva provinces after 2.00 p.m.

The general public is kindly requested to take adequate precautions to minimize damages caused by temporary localized strong winds and lightning during thundershowers.
