COLOMBO (News 1st); President Gotabaya Rajapaksa is expected to attend the 76th session of the UN General Assembly (UNGA 76) in New York on the 21st of September 2021.
The President's Media Division said this is the first time the President will be addressing the UNGA and the first time he will be attending a conference overseas.
President Rajapaksa is also expected to hold bilateral talks with several world leaders on Trade, Education, Agriculture, and other sectors.
Foreign Minister Professor G. L. Peiris, Principal Advisor to President Lalith Weeratunga, and Foreign Secretary Admiral Prof. Jayanath Colombage will accompany the President.
The President's Media Division said First Lady Ayoma Rajapaksa will accompany the President at her personal expense.
