Police arrests man for posting fake photos of COVID-19 deceased

COLOMBO (News 1st): Police had arrested a suspect for posting fake pictures on social media, claiming that the picture denotes the bodies of the deceased have been dumped at the Kalubowila Hospital.
The suspect has been identified as a 36 year old resident of Nugegoda.
The suspect was produced before the Colombo Chief Magistrate's Court yesterday (23) and was released on Rs. 100,000 bail and ordered to return to court on 12.16.2021.
The suspect is to be charged under the Quarantine Act, the Sri Lankan Penal Code and the Computer Crimes Act, Police said.
