Air Force donates Humidified Oxygen Therapy Unit to Kalutara Hospital

COLOMBO (News 1st); The Sri Lanka Air Force handed over a Heated Humidified Oxygen Therapy Unit (HHOT) to District General Hospital in Kalutara on Monday (23 August 2021).

The handing over was done by the Commanding Officer of SLAF Station Katukurunda, Air Commodore BAMP Balasuriya. The Director of District General Hospital at Kalutara, Dr. Pradeep Rathnasekara accepted the vital equipment on behalf of health authorities.

The Heated Humidified Oxygen Therapy Unit was manufactured by the General Engineering Wing at Katunayake together with the electronical design which was done by the Electronics and Telecommunications Wing at Ratmalana. According to Dr. Rathnasekara, this unit will be deployed at District General Hospital Kalutara where they will be used to treat patients with COVID-19.
