Heavy Rain and Severe Lightning Advisory for Sri Lanka

COLOMBO (News 1st); Showers or thundershowers will occur in the most parts of the island particularly in the evening or night.

Fairly heavy showers above 75 mm can be expected at some places in Central, Uva, Northern, North-central, Sabaragamuwa and Eastern provinces. Cloudy skies can be expected in these areas.

Showers or thundershowers can be expected in North-western, Western and Sabaragamuwa provinces and Galle and Matara districts during morning too.

General public is kindly requested to take adequate precautions to minimize damages caused by temporary localized strong winds and lightning during thundershowers.
