Circular to summon all public servants to work, issued

COLOMBO (News 1st): Ministry of Public Services, Provincial Councils and Local Government has issued a circular to call all public servants to work as usual from next week onwards. The Ministry stated that the circular was issued following instructions from the Secretary to the President and maintaining normal government functions without interruption should be prioritized. Moreover, the Ministry also mentioned that majority of Government officials have been vaccinated, enabling for an efficient service. Accordingly, from next Monday (02), all public servants will be required to report for duty as usual, subject to health guidelines. The Ministry of Public Services, Provincial Councils and Local Government added that steps have been taken to cancel all previous circulars issued by the Ministry regarding the convening of a limited number of staff on a circular basis and on duty at home from yesterday (30).
