02 men abducted & brutally tortured in Ampititya; Police manhunt underway to arrest suspects

COLOMBO (News 1st); Sri Lanka Police launched a manhunt to arrested multiple suspects for abducting and torturing 02 men in Ampitiya.

According to the investigations, the 02 victims had made a defamatory post against an individual identified as Dushmantha, who is operating a temple in Ampitiya.

The suspect has invited the victims to his residence in Balagolla and thereafter they were abducted and taken away to Ampitiya where they were tortured, said Police Spokesperson Senior DIG Ajith Rohana on Sunday (27).

According to victims, they were nailed to logs and tortured by the main suspect and another 08 people, said Senior DIG.

The suspects are evading police arrest, he said.

According to witnesses and villagers, the victims were brutally assaulted and tortured, he added.
