All shops MUST remain closed during travel restrictions

COLOMBO (News 1st); During the travel restrictions that will come into effect from 11 PM on Thursday (13) to 04 AM on Monday (17) only essential services are permitted to operate.

"All shops in the country MUST remain closed during this time," said Police Spokesperson DIG Ajith Rohana.

Permission will however be granted for pharmacies to operate delivery services to those who require medication.

The last digit of the NIC process will only be implemented from Monday (17) and will not apply from Thursday (13) to 04 AM on Monday (17) as the movement will be restricted to the entire country.
