COLOMBO (News 1st); Sri Lanka's Court of Appeal will not sit from the 06th to the 14th of May 2021.
A statement from the Registrar of the Court of Appeal noted that the decision was made by order of the President of the Court of Appeal as a COVID-19 precautionary measure. "If any party wishes to have a case fixed on any of the above date taken up on an urgent basis, they will be required to file electronically a motion within two day's notice," the statement added. The arrangement will apply to all cases listed until 14th May and all Interim Orders and Orders directing that the status quo be maintained shall stand extended until the next date, it added. Further, during the period of 06th to 14th May, only urgent matters will be taken up in the Supreme Court.
