Port City bill debate postponed

COLOMBO (News1st): The Parliamentary debate on the Colombo Port City Economic Commission Bill which was scheduled to be held tomorrow was postponed today. The postponement was announced as the Speaker is yet to receive the Supreme Court's determination on the Port City Economic Commission Bill. "Everything required to be approved or passed will be done under our Government in the future," Chief Government Whip Johnston Fernando said. He added that government lawmakers are eager to debate the Port City bill in Parliament. "An agreement was reached to hold the debate on two days next week," Gayantha Karunathilaka, an opposition lawmaker noted.
