Rear Admiral Priyantha Perera assumed Northern Naval Command

COLOMBO (News 1st); Rear Admiral Priyantha Perera assumed duties as the Commander Northern Naval Area at the Command Headquarters on Friday (30th April 2021).

He held office as Commander Southern Naval Area prior to taking over the command of Northern Naval Area. The incoming Area Commander was received to the Northern Naval Command according him a Guard of Honour in compliance with time honoured naval traditions. Thereupon, the Deputy Area Commander, Commodore JP Premarathna who oversaw duties as Acting Commander Northern Naval Area formally handed over the duties to Rear Admiral Priyantha Perera.
