COLOMBO (News 1st): Two foreign nations were among the four COVID-19 fatalities reported in Sri Lanka on Saturday (24), said the Department of Government Information.
The total number of COVID-19 fatalities reported in Sri Lanka is now 642, said a statement quoting the Director General of Health Services. 1. The deceased is a foreigner. He is a 46 year male resided in Colombo 02. He was diagnosed as infected with Covid 19 virus while undergoing treatments in a Private Hospital in Colombo and transferred to the National Hospital Kandy where he died on 24.04.2021. The cause of death is mentioned as Cardio respiratory arrest following COVID Pneumonia. 2. The deceased is a 46 year old male resident in Rathgama. He was diagnosed as infected with Covid 19 virus while undergoing treatments in Teaching Hospital Karapitiya and transferred to Base Hospital Homagama where he died on 22.04.2021. The cause of death is mentioned as Covid Pneumonia and secondary bacterial infection. 3. The deceased is a 65 year old male resident in Kuliyapitiya. He was diagnosed as infected with COvid 19 virus while undergoing treatments at the Teaching Hospital Kuliyapitiya and transferred to Base Hospital Homagama where he died on 24.04.2021. The cause of death is mentioned as COVID Pneumonia. 4. The deceased is a foreigner. He is a 63 year old male resided in Colombo 4. He died on 23.04.2021 in a treatment centre in Colombo. The cause of death is mentioned as COVID Pneumonia, Multiorgan failure associated with Chronic Kidney Disease.
