COLOMBO (News 1st): The commemoration ceremony of the 2019 April 21st Attacks will be held at the St. Anthony's Shrine in Kochchikade on Wednesday morning (Apr. 21), which was among the targetted locations of the attack.
Religious leaders are scheduled to attend the ceremony presided over by the Archbishop of Colombo, Cardinal Malcolm Ranjith.
The Spokesperson for the Archdiocese of Colombo, Dr. Camillus Fernando urged all Sri Lankans to observe two minutes of silence at 8.45 am today in memory of victims of the attack.
Moreover, all Catholic Schools in the country will remain closed today as the Catholic Church has decided to conduct multiple services to remember the lives lost on that tragic Sunday.
A special security plan will be in place on Wednesday (Apr. 21) surrounding Catholic Churches, Cathedrals, and Shrines in line with the special masses, Police Spokesperson DIG Ajith Rohana told News 1st.
