(PICTURES) President’s Colors for 02 Squadrons of Sri Lanka Air Force

Colombo (News 1st); The presentation of President’s Colors to the No. 05 Fighter Squadron and the No. 06 Helicopter Squadron of the Sri Lanka Air Force took place on Friday (05) at the Sri Lanka Air Force Base in Katunayake.

President Gotabaya Rajapaksa presented colors to the No. 05 Fighter Squadron and the No. 06 Helicopter Squadron of the Sri Lanka Air Force, to coincide with the 70th Anniversary of Sri Lanka Air Force. The Commander-in-Chief's highest honor bestowed on an Armed Force is the Presidential Color Award. Accordingly, the Sri Lanka Air Force has been awarded 13 Presidential Colors thus far. The Sri Lanka Air Force was established on the 02nd of March 1951 as the Royal Ceylon Air Force celebrated 70 years of guarding the skies above Sri Lanka.
