COLOMBO (News 1st): The President has appointed a commission to study the reports published by both the Presidential Commission appointed to probe the April 21st attacks and the Sectoral Oversight Committee on National Security on Friday (19th February)
The committee will be vested with the responsibility of scrupulously studying the facts and recommendations put forth by both the report of the Presidential Commission which probed the April 21st attacks and the report of the Sectoral Oversight Committee on National Security which has been presented to Parliament.
Minister Chamal Rajapaksa has been appointed the Chairman of the committee.
Ministers Johnston Fernando, Udaya Gammanpila, Ramesh Pathirana, Prasanna Ranatunga and Rohitha Abeygunawardena will make up the rest of the committee.
The Presidential Secretariat will be directing both reports to this newly formed committee and it has been set a deadline until 15th March 2021 to issue its report.
